I have a new top!

I made these Economy Blocks last year when I noticed I had a lot of blue scrap chunks. I also have a 16 quart bin of little 3 inch nine patches so picked out a bunch of nine patches with blue fabrics to use as the Economy Block centers.
You know I usually sew blocks together randomly but this time the layout was a kind of planned random. I divided up the blocks into three piles based on the last round of the blocks - dark blue, light blue and aqua. Then I counted up what was in the dark and light blue piles and then I added wild card aqua blocks to each pile until there were the same number of blocks in each pile.
Then I sewed them together alternating one from the dark pile and one from the light pile.
This is assembled top #2 toward my OMG (One Monthly Goal). I wonder how many more tops I will get assembled before the end of the month.

I have been eyeballing my shelves of blue and a box of mixed scraps....
I just finished an economy block quilt of browns for a 2020 tribute quilt I named "Just Flush 2020" ..... so will probably goa different way.

Is there a pool for how many more tops you'll finish by the end of the month? I'm picking 17. I have lots of confidence in you!
The blue quilt looks so vibrant against the backdrop of snow. We have none on the ground and we've had less the 14" for the whole season so far which is way below normal. It figures that in a winter when we don't drive anywhere there would be no snow. And that means less moisture in the ground, not good for next summer.

I just love your quilts! You have inspired me to be bolder in my choices. I've done scrappy quilts for years but traditionally ALWAYS mixed them with white. Nice, but a bit boring. I've now broken out of that box. And this quilt, well this one will help me get rid of many blues. Many older "greyer" blues. I've tried twice to use them in my "old way" with white and have been disappointed, they were blah, each time. NOW I'm going to look at them with refreshed eyes. Thank you!
