Rose Petals

These aren't really quilt blocks but a combination of rose themed scraps left over from two different quilts and leftover crochet cotton.
The squares are 4.5 inches. Two of them are sewn right sides together and turned.  That will make for a reversible blanket. Next I blanket stitch around the sides.  Then I crochet around the edges.  I took 14 of these prepped squares on vacation with me last week.
I completed the crochet around the edges of 12 of them.

Time to prep more squares. I'm not sure how far the pink crochet cotton will go. If I run out I may have to switch to another color. I have lots and lots of odds and ends of crochet cotton so I definitely won't run out.

I have seen this technique done with fleece and acrylic yarn. Your blocks look great!

There are certainly pretty blocks with lacy crochet trim.

That definitely has an old fashioned feel to it - and such pretty color, too! Looks like a great project to take on vacation!

Very pretty idea. Glad you managed to do some crochet whilst you were away. How did the trip go?
