Thistle Fairy - I embroidered turkey knots, cut them and fluffed them up to simulate a thistle on the top two thistles. I added bullion knot flowers along the bottom, fern stitch flowers to frame the fairy, sulky to the wings, some rhinestone stars, beaded buttonhole stitch and a couple of tatted butterflies.

Your thistles came out great Cathy! The whole block is lovely - the colours of the tatted butterflies were perfect for this block and I like them with the beaded bodies (another idea I am filing away for later! lol)

I just LOVE this quilt. My granddaughters are enthralled with fairies. I love everything about it - the colors, the design, the added texture. Wow! You are ONE talented lady!
