Pastel Streak of Lightning

It's a top!
Streak of Lightning
in pastels.
36 x 45

At the beginning of the year I decided to use scraps to make three different types of "Streak of Lightning" quilts. I had a little box of pastel scraps I intended to use to make a baby quilt. For this quilt I decided to use the instructions at the Root Connection blog to make 9 inch finished blocks.

Back in January I made 4 "A" blocks and 3 "B" blocks using light blues and grays and neutrals found in my 3.5 inch width scrap box.

So this month when the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) "color" of the month is pastels I decided to finish up blocks and assemble the top for this little quilt.

And sew on...

Nicely done! So great to have a plan in place before it ties in with RSC.

Who says a streak of lightning has to be done in bold wild colors? This one works beautifully!

I predict you'll have a month of power-quilting to get these new creations finished!

Hi Cathy! Beautiful quilt! I have been reading your blog for quite some time and noticed that fabric is sent to you from others to be used in your quilts. I have about 175 3.5 inch pinwheel blocks that I sewed, pressed, and trimmed that were made from cut-off triangles in addition to some that I just kept making because I enjoyed making them. I realize that these are smaller than what you usually work with but wondered if you might be able to use these? Maybe a round in SAHRR? If you would like them, let me know how I can obtain a mailing address. Regards, Jenny B.

The softness of the blues you have in this quilt is a delight, I find it very relaxing to look at. Just what I needed today!
