It's been a busy couple of weeks; however, in bits of time I have worked on a few Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) blocks.
I had accumulated a lot of brown 2.5 inch width scraps. I've been making quarter stars to be turned into full stars later on. I think this is the last of my longer scraps so now I need to see how many stars I can make from the quarter star pieces.
I made a few Boo Boo Patches from gray 1.5 inch scraps.
And I now have met my goal of 300 - 4 inch finished Windmill blocks for a 15 x 20 block layout which will make for a 60 x 80 inch quilt.
And sew on...

Congratulations on finishing all the windmills! Quarter stars are a good way to insure a scrappy mix.
I love that you use whatever light coloured print for the background in your quarter stars. I am hesitant to do that and I always run out of light fabric. I should use light prints too. You are my inspiration. Your blocks are awesome as always. Enjoy! ;^)
I love those quarter star blocks! I think I might make some of those - they'll make a fun collection for an RSC quilt!
Nice group of quilt blocks you are working on, Cathy... I like those 1/4 Stars a lot--this one will be nice and scrappy the way you are working on it.:))) Hugs for a great weekend Julierose
It seems you have a good start with your quarter stars. Surprise - not - I see one of my favorite fabrics in amongst your windmill blocks. It is the turquoise with the gold paintbrush stripes. Wish I had bought more of it.
Your scrappy blocks are always so inspirational to me. The quarter stars have my wheels turning! And it’s been a while since I’ve made pinwheels. I love that block. Great work!
300 windmill blocks??? That means your pieces were 1-1/2" wide Oh my!!! I am always impressed with what you do with those tiny scraps. I love those stars and it was clever to only make half stars because you can get more variety. Good job. I guess you are getting ready for the change of the seasons? We're still having summer down here in Houston. Still getting up to the 90's and breaking records.
Such wonderful component parts getting ready for a finale- a quilt. Lots of nice things going on there.
You are always productive. I like those stars.
