I've made my feathers from string scraps.
I'm big stitching on Feather Bed in different colors of perle #8.
I'm not sure what or how I will quilt between feathers. (These look a little wonky and wavy propped up on the back of the couch or maybe it's the dizzying effect of so many feathers).
I'm preparing a lot of handwork for my husband's upcoming mandibulectomy and fibula free flap surgery on Thursday an hour away in Iowa City to repair a jaw fracture caused by osteoradionecrosis - lots of radiation when he had oropharyngeal cancer. It's a 12 hour surgery and then a 7-10 day hospital stay - one day at least in ICU. I'll stay at the hospital during the day and go back to a hotel at night for the first few days, be back at work on Monday and then go back to pick him up on the day he is discharged. So I'll need a lot of hand work to keep me busy!

This looks like a great project to pass the time. I hope your husband is back at it soon.
Good luck to your husband for his surgery and hope all well be well. You will be very tired I'm sure, glad you got a hotel room lined up to rest at - hospitals are horribly uncomfortable aren't they
It is great to catch a glimpse of this colorful quilt again. Best wishes to you and your husband and thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!
Good luck to all. Rest when you can. Living in a hospital is hard on you.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hope the hand work helps keep you going!
Feather bed is another awesome quilt. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Hope all goes well and his recooperation happens quickly and without too much discomfort.
Prayers to guide the surgeon's hand and for his quick recovery. I admire your strength under adversity and Featherbed is looking great!
That looks like a fun project! It's good that you have something to keep yourself busy with while waiting in the hospital for your husband's surgery to be finished. I'm wishing him (and you!) a speedy recovery and a return to normal days before too long.
I love that feather pattern, and it looks awesome on that background fabric! That should keep your spirits up. Best of luck to you both on Thursday, and best wishes for a smooth recovery. :D
The feathers are fabulous. I love the big-stitch quilting in differing colors. I hope everything goes well for your husbands surgeries. And, that he heals quickly.
Praying that all goes well with your husband's surgery and recovery. I love the colorful fabric of the feather quilt.
Best wishes for your husband's successful surgery and a full recovery. Take care of yourself and get as much rest as you can, these times are so very stressful to body and spirit. God bless you both.
The feathers should give you something to do with your waiting time. Best wishes for your husband for a speedy recovery.
