Flashes of Brilliance
(Sugarloaf Stars)
75.5 x 78
It's a finish!
It's hand quilted!
I did it! I never thought I could make a quilt like this!
The pattern, inspired by a vintage quilt, is by Pam Buda and was published in American Patchwork and Quilting October 2015.
I did the hand quilting with blanc perle #12 and quilted it similar to the vintage quilt.
I made the leftover strip set pieces into a flimsy - Sugarloaf With Mustard - in August 2021 and it still needs to be quilted.
Now what shall I get ready for the hoop? I have several choices. Hmmmm...
That’s a gorgeous finish. I do hope you are keeping this one for yourself and that you will enjoy draping it around you - if you ever sit still long enough for a nap! Perhaps the Leftovers with mustard should be the next one to hand quilt?
ReplyDeleteFlashes of Brilliance is the perfect name for this amazing quilt! Your piecing is fantastic, the colors are beautiful, and the hand quilting finishes it off beautifully! Congratulations on a wonderful finish!

ReplyDeleteYay for a fantastic finish! Your Flashes of Brilliance is wonderful and I love that you hand quilted it. Thanks for inspiring me to give it a try; my flimsy is done, but not quilted. I'm tempted to try hand quilting because yours looks so soft and lovely, but I know my limitations!
