100 Eight Patch Blocks
They finish at 6 x 8 inches and will be set 10 x 10 for a 60 x 80 quilt.
I recently made a set of Buckeye Beauty variation blocks with plaids and '30s reproduction fabrics. I had a lot of 3.5 inch width scraps left over so if the strip was long enough I cut them up into four 2.5 x 3.5 pieces and then I made these. Now they are going into a Some Assembly Required (SAR) box to be assembled at some later date (when I get a few more tops quilted and donated).
Stay tuned for what now will happen to the leftovers of these leftovers!
Have a wonderful day!
And sew on...
I know you will find a creative way to use the leftovers of the leftovers. Great set of blocks stashed away for a future quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'm still using 3.5" scraps for Antique Tile blocks, which you also inspired. I'm never going to catch up...
ReplyDeleteI love that you use every scrap in the blocks! makes your quilts exciting and fun to look at!
ReplyDeleteThose are happy! Great idea for 2.5 x 3.5 inch pieces.
ReplyDeleteGreat assortment of blocks! Happy ones.
ReplyDeleteI figured out that it's the sharp contrast between the prints that makes all of these play well together.
ReplyDeleteP.S. And the 2.5 x 3.5 size yielding rectangular blocks is visually interesting, too.
ReplyDeleteCombining such a variety of prints really makes your blocks fun!
