What's in the hoop?
Tulipa Errata
The top was finished in August 2019 and has finally found it's way to the top of the hand quilting queue for some big stitching with a variety of pink and red threads. This was made mostly from '30s reproduction scraps and it is called Tulipa Errata because it was another one of those patterns that was full of errors as far as cutting those background triangles for the tulip applique. I had to improvise a little in order to assemble the top because of those errors. I guess it is good to put on the old thinking cap once in awhile.
Gosh, there's sure a lot of pink in this one!
Perfect pink prettiness!
ReplyDeleteSuch perfect timing with the current string pieced tulip QAL at AHIQ! You didn't even have to start a new project. The crumpled in-the-hoop peeks are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLoving those tulips...I had problems with that pattern, too...things just didn't match up--so I abandoned it...but I like the idea--and I love all those pinks...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect quilt for Spring! I love how your notions tin fits the repro vibe of the quilt. Went back to the post where you talked about the pattern errors -- whoo, you really had a time! Kudos on working it all out!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt and quilting! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove the background fabric - lovely pink with little bunches of cherries. Enjoy your hand stitching, good opportunity to use up your Perle thread#.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry there was so much errata in the pattern, but glad you stuck with it! What a great quilt! Are the string tulips appliqued onto the background? I'm curious about what applique technique used for those pieces.
ReplyDeleteVery pink indeed, a real spring quilt full of tulips! Happy quilting.
ReplyDeleteTulipa Errata is beautiful, cheery and fun. What a beautiful collection of fabrics in this quilt. Happy quilting.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty in pink! I hadn't gotten a post of yours in a couple of days, so I checked and sure enough, I missed 2 days. Nothing in my spam either. Weird, huh?
