This week I worked in my purple 3.5 inch scraps. Can you tell I recently made a Halloween 16 patch quilt that used 3.5 inch strips?
I ended up making six inch bow ties...
... and three inch snowballs with dark corners because last year I made three inch snowballs with light corners. Can you tell I used 3.5 inch solid purple strips in a variety of shades to make a pansy quilt?
Then I added a few things to the Parts Department. Those little odd four patches were made with the little pieces left over after I cut the 2 inch squares for the bow ties. I used to throw them into the crumb box but decided to try to use them instead. And that big long strip??? That is made from the 3.5 inch scraps that are smaller than a 3.5 inch square. At the end of the year I'll probably make all of them into a Chinese Coins quilt.
You really have a great collection of purples going on there--I especially like those snowballs...next to string piecing I like snowballing (the only triangles I can manage haha) lol hugs, Julierose
