I'm having a bit of carpal tunnel flareup these days so haven't been able to do hand quilting on the current quilt in the hoop and, darn it, I don't have much left to do. So I decided to plan ahead and get the next quilt in the queue pin basted. Luckily I don't put many pins in when I pin baste because closing up all those safety pins isn't much easier to deal with when carpal tunnel comes around.
Anyway... this is Coin Toss (maybe Roy G. Biv's Coin Purse would be a better name?) - 63 x 77 and ready for some hand quilting sometime soon. It's a Chinese Coin quilt made from scraps and bits and pieces from the Parts Department.
I pieced together some gray fabric I had on hand because I figured the rainbows I'm going to hand quilt into this quilt will show up on the back. I'm going to use a variety of threads to do some big stitching. I'm planning to start in the middle and quilt some vertical lines in variegated colors of the rainbow.
made up from the "parts department" ha - the scrap stash? colorful quilt hope your carpel tunnel improves
ReplyDeleteYour “parts” look great together!
ReplyDeleteLove all the bright colors. They make my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to see all that colourful quilting!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like the idea of using leftover parts in a RSC quilt. I hope your carpal tunnel improves soon. I have it so bad I can knit or hand quilt for very long.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one! That blue sashing is great. It has inspired me to work towards something similar. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYou really know how to put left-overs and scraps together to make a beautiful quilt! My DIL is a new quilter and just recently made her first big boo-boo on a block. She was ready to ditch it, but I told her to save it in a special place to wait for more boo-boo blocks. I'm going to show her your quilt to see how to make the best of her boo-boo's! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteTake the time you need so the carpal tunnel symptoms subside. I've been having severe wrist issues too, have an appt tomorrow to hopefully get a diagnosis, whether rheumatoid arthritis, pinched nerve or carpal tunnel, and what might be able to be done. We have too many more quilts to make to surrender to this nonsense!
ReplyDeleteI hope your carpel tunnel calms down soon so that you can get back to quilting. I really like that colorful quilt.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt. Hope the carpal tunnel problem calms down soon so you can start stitching.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see this quilt again! I hope your CT simmers down so you can quilt the way you want. It's frustrating when the body won't cooperate with the brain's plans...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds painful! Love this quilt. What thread are you using to quilt it with?
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful quilt. I enjoy following your progress.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the Roy. g. Biv's coin purse name!! What a beauty. Wishing you relief from the CT flare up - NO FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! Hope the carpal tunnel gives you a break!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous rainbow quilt... so happy! I love it!
ReplyDeleteLots of colour - great!! Having had carpel tunnel in both hands and surgery, I hope yours settles down soon.
ReplyDeleteSo bright and fun! That will be a great project to work on as spring starts to show itself. Happy stitching this week.
