Three Comfort Quilts of Horizon Blocks
Each quilt finishes at 40.5 x 57
If you'd like to know more about quilts refer to a previous post when I finished the tops back in July 2022.
All were quilted with spirals and swirls on my DSM.
This month the theme here in my sewing room is KIDS so I'm trying to finish as many donation quilts for kids as I can. But now I'm kind of tired of quilting so am going to work on moving some partial block sets forward to tops then will go back to quilting again.
I'm going to be busy the next few days visiting with family coming from out of town to attend the visitation and services for my brother-in-law who passed away a few days ago so probably won't get much sewing done and will probably be offline until Saturday.
What fun finishes!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are brilliant Cathy! I read about these blocks on your blog as you W ere making them and they didn’t excite me. However, now I see them together in 3 lovely cheerful quilts I’m sold! Oh dear, yet another idea to add to my list! Get thou behind me, Cathy! Hope the next few family days go OK.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the finishes! Bright and cheerful quilts, love them all!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with the blocks as is, but l am wondering what they might look like if you flipped every other one. Would that give it some movement? Have you tried that yet? I am just curious.
ReplyDeleteI like the version where you flip every other block so there is no single straight horizontal line across the quilt - seems more fun to me. Best wishes as you navigate another family gathering caused by a funeral.
ReplyDeletePlease accept my condolences on the passing of your brother-in-law. I will be thinking of your family this week.
ReplyDeleteHorizon blocks are a cute way to use novelty prints. Cheery quilts for kids.
Cathy I'm so sorry to read of the loss of your brother-in-law.
ReplyDeleteThree beautifully bright Comfort quilts, I'm another who likes the flipped setting.

ReplyDeletereally nice- and noble goal
ReplyDeleteFabulous finishes, Cathy! I like BOTH the straight and alternating settings. I'm sorry for your family's loss. We'll see you back here when you get a chance to sew.
