It's A Finish!

It's a finish!
Economy Blocks
in '30s reproduction prints
60 x 78

I quilted it on my DSM with vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines that meet in the center of the blocks. I used natural colored thread.

I made a scrappy binding and the backing has little butterflies on it. The backing isn't a '30s reproduction print.

And sew it goes...

  3. What a fun quilt! Someone will fall in love with this.
Do you cut by hand or with a machine? Do you have any wonderful tips for aligning the pieces for economy patches (when they're cut by hand)? I love the block but getting those triangles right in the center is a challenge. But, maybe you cut the triangles larger and trim the block after it's sewn? Thanks!

  5. oooh, I have some 30s fabric I am never sure what to do with, if I should just incorporate it into everything else scrappy or what....but I think I know now what to do. Thanks for the inspiration, as always!

  10. Beautiful colour in this economy block quilt, I'm inspired to make one, hopefully early net year and try and use soft coloured fabrics rather than my bold and bright!
