Economy Blocks
in '30s reproduction prints
60 x 78
I quilted it on my DSM with vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines that meet in the center of the blocks. I used natural colored thread.
I made a scrappy binding and the backing has little butterflies on it. The backing isn't a '30s reproduction print.
And sew it goes...
A great finish, and the way you chose to quilt this adds another unexpected dimension to these economy blocks. I love it!

ReplyDeleteDo you cut by hand or with a machine? Do you have any wonderful tips for aligning the pieces for economy patches (when they're cut by hand)? I love the block but getting those triangles right in the center is a challenge. But, maybe you cut the triangles larger and trim the block after it's sewn? Thanks!

ReplyDeleteoooh, I have some 30s fabric I am never sure what to do with, if I should just incorporate it into everything else scrappy or what....but I think I know now what to do. Thanks for the inspiration, as always!
