Quilts of September #29
Pneuma
(the vital spirit, soul, or creative force of a person)
74 x 87
I finished the top in March 2020. The quilt started with some low volume strings, these hearts and a picture of a vintage string quilt.
I big stitched hand quilted it with a variety of pastel perle cottons.
Technically this is not a quilt since it does not have batting. It's a summer quilt or coverlet.
After finishing 28 quilts this month for donation (a couple will be gifted) I finished this one for me.
And that's the grand finale for September. Since I hurt my back in a fall and am still in a little pain (mostly when I get up and down from seated position) I won't be getting on the floor to pin baste any more quilts for a few days.
I am SO glad this one is for YOU. It is amazing and just too wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy using the coverlet. A bit of R&R is what you need. Look after your back.
ReplyDeleteYou had an amazing month - and!! you deserve one for yourself!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your back!!! Here's to quick healing!
I love the subtle fabrics in this quilt, happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteWowee -- 29 quilts finished in one month! Take some time off to rest up . . . the scraps are calling you for October.
ReplyDeleteYou had a terrific month and cleared out a lot of blocks, pieces, and tops waiting for quilting. I hope you have some fun projects lined up to start in October.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I hereby declare that September will henceforth have only 29 days, in honor of your A Quilt For Every Day in September. (The date formerly known as September 30th will now be called Cathy Day for obvious reasons)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet coverlet! You are entitled to one now and then. Congrats on 29 finishes for the month.
ReplyDeleteSEW glad to hear that you are keeping this sweet summer spread for yourself, Cathy!! You really were on a finishing mission this month, weren't you? Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on all of them. Almost one finish a day. That is fabulous
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to wind up a month of quilt finishes. Rest up and let that that back heal. You've got lots of new projects to get underway.

That's amazing - it just invites snuggling! Congrats on a successful September!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt!! The wonderful little snapshots of all the fun fabric is fabulous!! A quilt to sit under and just look at the fabric, awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI love all your quilts. I am glad that you were able to accomplish so much this month before you fell. You’ll be better soon after resting on ( and under) such comfortable laurels. I wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteYou had a fantastic September, quilt-wise. This coverlet quilt in low volumes is so lovely! Take care of yourself and your back! xo
ReplyDeleteTechnically it IS a quilt, it is quilted! Pieced tops that get tied are not technically quilts because they are NOT quilted.
