The First Flimsy of 2019

 It's a flimsy!
Triangle Tiles
82 x 92

This is a quilt inspired by a c. 1940-1950 quilt made by Stella Freeman Gillion in the collection of her grandson, Alan Childress.

I don't usually add borders but wanted to stay close to the original inspiration. And with the in mind I will probably hand quilt Baptist Fans.

  2. Wow, this is a beautiful finish! Funny how things circle back to you. I went to elementary school with Alan and lost touch after all our moving around. His grandmother must have been quite the woman if she inspired this gorgeous quilt.

  6. That is stunning! And that blue border sets off the colorful blocks really well. Happy New Year!

  7. I usually remember blocks you are making and squirreling away, but not these ones. Interestingly my maiden name was Freeman! Yes, I think this flimsy needs a border, perhaps a more "busy" fabric? No doubt you have several fabrics you are auditioning.
