Wooden Ships
It's a flimsy

A few years ago...or was it last year?...I was making one block a month using the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month for sails. I got as far as seven blocks and then quit making them. I guess I stashed them away and forgot I was making them. Anyway, a few weeks ago I found them and made the five blocks necessary to complete a top.
I had the backing stored with the blocks so I wouldn't use it for something else. Usually I find something for a backing only after I complete a top.
I know a couple of people who will be grandparents soon so this will go to them when finished.
And that's why getting this finished will be August's OMG (One Monthly Goal).
How funny I only saw his block again on someone else's blog the other day and it reminded me of your ship blocks. It's another of your ideas squirreled away in my head. The different fabric boats and seas are great.

I love the colors and the blue background. I need to make a few more masculine quilts like that.

ReplyDeleteIt should come as no surprise that I'm always looking for boat themed fabrics. That backing is great! I've never seen that one before. Is it a quilting fabric? It's very, very hard to find boat fabrics/blocks/quilts that aren't sailboats. Your sailboat blocks are very nice; I wish I could find a power boat block. Maybe I'll have to design one.
