In The Hoop: Postage Stamp Sue

Postage Stamp Sue is in the hoop now because it's a small quilt - 39 x 44. I haven't worked on it for a few days because with no air conditioning I've been too hot to do much of anything.  As far as other hand work - I have worked on some crazy quilting and hexies that I'll show later on in the week when I have something to show.
I think I started making Sue back in 2013 as a Rainbow Scrap Challenge project. I didn't finish the flimsy until 2015.   After I finish hand quilting it will be a baby quilt for the hope chest.

I hope there's a few cooler days so I can finish it this month because I'm declaring it my July OMG (One Monthly Goal).

  1. One of my favorites out of all of yours, Cathy--so evocative of my younger days...nice memories...my grand-mere would have loved it, too...hugs, Julierose

  2. That is so cute! I like the pieced Sues much better than I usually like the appliqued ones. All the postage stamp details make it fun to look at!

  6. Yes I remember you making these. Can't blame you for taking a break with no ac quilting can be smothering on those hot days. I like the idea of baby quilts for the future!

  8. A hope chest, I've got one of those as well. With two grand daughters in their 20s I'm now waiting for great grandkids!

  9. This hot weather is miserable without air conditioning. You certainly don't want to sit under a quilt no matter how beautiful it is. Don't want sweaty hands on it either. I love this quilt.

  12. I like these Sues! They look more modern in their short dresses and knee socks/rain boots. You've had a productive week in spite of the heat, what with the sunflower and lightning streaks and nine patches. I'll bet your garden is going great guns, too :)
