I guess I don't need to name a quilt I'm donating.
This is the result of a magical mystery quilt along with Libby who blogs at Life on the Hill.
48 x 48
I used up some old floral bits and pieces and chunky scraps - a lot of them daisies - and had some fun doing it.
There were several ways to layout the mystery blocks. I chose fields and furrows.
I quilted it on my DSM with some very free form daisies.
The backing and binding are full of roses.
And those scraps were sure put to good use.
It's a great mysterious daisy field! I love how your blocks turned out, and the quilt is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWow, that sure was a speedy finish! I still haven't finished my first few blocks. Your quilt looks great, and someone will be thrilled to receive it!
ReplyDeleteI have seen a few of these blocks around on differnt blogs. Yours is the first finish I have seen. I like how it turned out!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out beautifully, Cathy! I like the layout you chose, and all the blues/daisies in it. It's a perfect comfort quilt!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous! I like the way you distributed your colors. Using all florals makes it cohesive even with the color variations. Super cool!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt simply glows in the muted sunlight kof your first photo. This will be a much loved quilt!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a Mysterious Quilt. I know the quilt was photographed outside so there is sunshine playing on it but I imagine there would be the same effect indoors when the quilt was on the bed - your placement of the blocks (especially the yellow ones) give the idea of sunlight coming through trees in a forest. Lovely! ☀️
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful. A wonderful donation quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the scrappy field and furrow look, the daisy quilting is perfect.

What a gorgeous quilt. That block pattern and layout is really striking!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful quilt Cathy! A simple design but the blue florals really make it special. Sometimes the simplest designs are the best. Someone will be very happy with this quilt.
ReplyDeleteAnother great finish using florals. I get so many ideas from your projects, but don't seem to be able to churn them out like you do.
