Bohemian Roosters
80 x 80
Sunburst pattern from Making Quilts by Kathy Doughty
I fussy cut the roosters for each center from Bohemian Rooster Click fabric by Susan Winget.
Blocks are all pieced and not appliqued. I tried to use boho-ish looking fabrics from my stash that went with the background colors in the rooster centers and was surprised I even had anything that even sort of qualified.
I haven't found a suitable backing yet.
My husband had a Dr. appointment an hour away this morning but we started out and found the roads were too icy and slick so turned around and came back home. Guess I'll have to go sew.
Great quilt top. I have loved watching it come together. Can't wait to see what you get up to next.
ReplyDeletePoor baby! You have to stay in and sew. Love the funky roosters. Way to use up stash!
ReplyDeletegreat top!! I love it
ReplyDeleteWoah! This is one of my favorites! I have been watching your sewing for a while and this one tops the cake! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThose roosters! It's way too early in the morning to be cock-a-doodle announcing the finish of a quilt top! I'll tell you its a delightful quilt after I have my coffee and officially wake up.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt turned out really great! I'm glad it is you doing the applique, and not me! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteLove love love this one! Enjoy your sew day :)
ReplyDeleteI have been expecting this flimsy to make an appearance. It's gorgeous! Lovely contrasts within the blocks and in the placement of the blocks. Another success.
ReplyDeleteFantastic flimsy! Love the fabrics used and the roosters in the centre are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Your version is much more eyecatching than in the book, another one I'm tempted to try!
ReplyDeleteA quilt to crow about, its marvelous!
ReplyDeleteKathy Doughty has some great designs, I could look through her books for hours.

ReplyDeleteFabulous top! The colors are so bright and happy. I think we all need some boho roosters in our lives,
ReplyDeleteNice quilt top finish - love the colors! You must have quilts hanging from the rafters!
ReplyDeleteThe Bohos have arrived!! I'm so glad to see them all together in one big, bright top. Such a great design, and you had all the right fabrics for it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun! It's a hoot (or would that be a cackle?) that you had enough rooster fabrics for all the centers. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI've been loving every block as you've made them, and now I'm REALLY loving this flimsy! Absolutely fabulous quilt!
ReplyDeleteThese were pretty cool one at a time, but all together they have a real wow factor!
