Log Cabin Lunacy

I find that if I quilt along with others in blog land I happen to finish more quilty goals than if I go it alone. Maybe it's the deadline of a linky party. (I like deadlines). Maybe it's because I like to see how others interpret a theme, or an idea, or use scraps.

Julie is hosting Log Cabin Lunacy and I am joining the lunacy.

I used my brown short scrap strings and just finished making four more 9 inch wonky log cabin blocks that will join the 9 I made in February when brown was the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month.

My goal is to make 30 blocks and then make a donation quilt..

  1. I like the prompt that joining in with others provides, even if I always seem to veer off track. I hadn't seen Log Cabin Lunacy, but I'm tempted...

  2. Her putting 'lunacy' right in the title was entrapment in my case. How could I possibly resist that?
I love your wonky log cabins!

  11. Liberated log cabins are my favorites to make -- I adore looking at the vintage LC quilts with those tiny, tiny logs but making one like that is not for me. I have lots of neutral strings -- need to see what is out there in the darker string arena. (and I like the camaraderie of the link groups - especially the ones that encourage individual interpretations on a theme).
