On and off I've been making some 18 inch Spinning Stars blocks...
...using Anna Maria Horner's pattern and the scraps left over from a Pickle Dish quilt.
It's one of my UFOs or WIPs if you prefer.
And this is one of my WIPs too...9 inch Wagon Wheels using a pattern on a McCall's Vintage Quilts CD, 30s reproduction fabrics and solids. See any similarities?
Who knew I was working on two completely different quilts using similar patterns? I sure didn't!

Your colors always knock me out! Beautiful blocks!
ReplyDeleteThey are similar! What great blocks those are, and I look forward to seeing a group of the top ones put together to see the secondary design from the corners.
ReplyDeleteI love the red and green wagon wheel fabrics. I also look forward to seeing a group of the top ones. Debbie
ReplyDeleteOh my your colors just jump out at me! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI really like those blocks. That's all I need to do is start another project! I think I'll just admire yours.
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny! I love the fabrics you are using in the first set :*)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours in that first block! I am realizing that I keep starting similar designs too. Repeated shapes, repeated colours. I think it's because none of them are finished!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I call a versatile block - so many ways to use colour. Love the ones you have here.
ReplyDeleteNow that you have notices, are you going to put them together or keep them as 2 separate quilts?
ReplyDeleteOne's a circle - one's an octagon - very similar. I like them both. You are sure making progress! Thanks for linking to WIPs Be Gone.
