Bricks and Stones
2.5 x 4 inch bricks + 2.5 inch square black stones
Started last year.
Blue is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) color of the month. I have so many blue scraps (scrap=<6 inch square) and chunks (chunks=>6 inch square and <FQ) so I don't think I will get them all made into blocks this month so will probably also work on my remaining scraps along with other RSC colors.
Waffles and Rails
For two separate comfort quilts
5 inch finished
Both made from 1.5 x 5.5 rectangles and both started last year.
I have blue scraps for other blocks cut out so maybe I will finish up a few more blocks this week before we move on to another RSC color. The theme this month in my sewing space to move UFOs forward has been "itty bits, fiddly bits" so I've also been working on blocks in all colors with itty bits.
And sew on...
I do love a lot of different shades of blue together...nice WIPS, Cathy. I am sorting scraps over this snowy weekend. They mount up so fast!! Stay safe and warm hugs, Julierose
ReplyDelete"Itty bits, fiddly bits" made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteyou have a lot of blue for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love “itty bits” too. We used to call our youngest granddaughter “Itty Bit”. In fact Grandpa still calls her that. She’s 32. *smile*
ReplyDeleteGlad you are using your bits up. I need to follow your lead.
You are clever and organized to make blocks now for donation quilts later. Keep it up. These are lovely and the name is fun
ReplyDeleteI’ve been cutting 1 1/2” squares from the last little bits of scraps for a while now. These waffles are a great idea for them! I hope your weather stays tolerable this weekend. We’re sure keeping an eye on ours.
ReplyDeleteI am always fascinated by your itty bitty bits of scraps and the patience that you have with them.
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to see how you are using your fabrics into such fun blocks.
ReplyDeleteThey are so lovely and scrappy!! xx
