Slowly Sewing Along

The Ribbon

A Quilt Along with Alycia

It's a top!

I think mine measures 62 x 76.

I don't many quilt alongs or mysteries anymore but I do usually participate in whatever Alicia dreams up. She loves our veterans and is committed to seeing that each one gets a Quilt of Valor.

I made my quilt with scraps like usual.

I didn't follow all of Alycia's instructions. I cut my hourglass blocks with the  Easy Angle ruler and I didn't strip piece my 25 patch blocks.

I used mostly star fabrics and plaids.

And sew on...

And now for a few photos of flowers in my gardens.

  1. I absolutely love your quilt and your use of scrappy! I have a tub of plaids and you have given me an idea on using them. I used the color scheme Alycia posted but will start on my plaid one. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I love your quilt top. I have the directions printed out, but haven't started. I have Bonnie Hunter's new leader/ender on the design wall

  4. Scrappy is the best and plaids mixed in always works great.
You have a lot of lilies, which must mean you have less deer in your garden. I'm glad you got some of the rain recently. It all missed us. I think we must have a huge umbrella over our area.

  5. That first Lily is gorgeous. I bet it smells heavenly as well. My garden looks pretty dull right now. Only 2" of rain in the last 6 weeks so everything is drying up. Had to give up the lilies because of the deer and red lily beetles.
