CELEBRATE! (my word of the year)
Oct. 5 - Hubby surprised me with an order of over 200 bulbs! They have not arrived yet but he forwarded me a confirmation of order email. Soon I'll be getting quite a variety of Crocus as well as Hyacinths, Dutch Iris, Alliums,Tulips and Asiatic Lilies. I think he looked at some dog eared pages in one of my catalogs! I dream a lot but usually never end up ordering anything but seeds. I already know where I'm going to put everything!
I am waiting for my bulb order. We have to make cages out of hardware cloth for the tulips. Planting bulbs is a very hopeful activity. Love the 2 quilts. I just finished quilting a queen size for a friend. Now I can get back to my own comfort tops. Just wonderful finishes!
ReplyDeletethe quilts look great - when you say 200 bulbs all I can say is planting them would kill my back - I'm wondering how I am going to get the garden ready for winter this year
ReplyDeleteWowzers! You will have so many flowers to look forward to! We have an auger bit for our drill for planting bulbs that makes it so much easier to dig the holes…..hope you have something to make it easy for you. Come spring, you’ll have so much joy watching for what blooms next :)
ReplyDeleteAre you thinking about next year's word? I don't see how you can top this year's word. You have had so many things to celebrate. I know you have had some big obstacles in your path but God has brought you out of every one with reason to celebrate. You really do have a knack for taking scraps and making something beautiful. So I guess you can celebrate for having friends to send you such scrumptious fabric! OMG! 200? bulbs? It is certainly going to be beautiful out there. That was very sweet of him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to look forward to- a bed of 200 flowers!! I've said this before: you have such a gift for making orphan/lotto blocks look so coordinated and appealing. These are awesome as always.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers will be wonderful -- happy planting! Meanwhile: wonderful sampler quilts.
ReplyDeleteWAY TO GO, HUBBY !!!
ReplyDeleteYou do amazing things with your orphan blocks, Cathy! Two pretty quilts - they're going to be loved. Your husband knows just what you like, too - it will be a beautiful spring next year at your place!
