It's A Finish! Sixteen Patch and Sawtooth Stars

It's a finish!
Sixteen Patch and Stars
60 x 84

Full of homespuns and old shirts.

I quilted it on my DSM with horizontal and vertical lines.

The backing is a homespun fabric too. And I had enough for the binding.

I think this one will go to a neighboring farmer with many hospitalizations who finally received a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis or to my sister's long time (50 years) friend with cognitive problems who is moving into assisted living.

And sew on...

  2. I love the look of this one--so homespun and comfy--my favorite old-fashioned look with those fabrics you chose. Beautiful work on it...hugs, Julierose

  5. That is such a pretty quilt, pretty colors, and should give great comfort to the recipient. There is just something so comforting about plaids in a quilt.

  7. I love this quilt with its quiet, muted colors, though maybe it's brighter in different light. I need to get busy with some of my plaids!

  8. Love everything about this quilt- the subtle colour combinations and the alternating stars and 9 patches ( those two blocks compliment each other so well). Another wonderful finish.

  9. Those two blocks pair so well together. Believe it or not, I've never made a plaid quilt, yours looks so comforting.

  10. I could just squeeze that quilt, it looks so comfy. Normally, I am not a fan of homespun fabrics, but this changed my mind. Whoever gets it, will definitely feel hugs.

  12. This looks great! I've probably had this pattern since 2018. I started collecting old shirts from the thrift I volunteer at, and have plenty to get one started now! Maybe in January....

  13. As I scrolled through the comments, everyone was already saying what I was going say. This two blocks work so well together and the fabric choices give the quilt a real vintage feel. I'm glad it will go to someone who needs comfort right now.

  15. You did a fantastic job on this one (as always). I love the homespun and it looks just like the inspiration quilt! I'm probably going to have to try to make that one. I will put a note somewhere in my squirrel projects which will keep in close to the front of the line! I just love it.
