Squares and Rectangles
is the theme this month in my sewing room.
This top is made from 2 inch squares.
A few months back someone gave me a bag of 2 inch squares. Plus I already had quite a few 2 inch squares. I pulled out most of the bright and novelty squares as well as the light squares to make these 16 patch squares. I Spy quite a few things and maybe the child that gets this quilt someday will have fun Spying too.
I have another quilt in the works with more of those 2 inch squares that are mostly old florals. Maybe I will finish that top before month end too.
And sew on...
Such a good idea to make the blocks with alternating lights and darks. You've certainly done a great job on this one.
ReplyDeletethis is so pretty--
ReplyDeleteI love how you alternated those light and dark 4-patches in the middle...nice work hugs, Julierose
Oh my gosh! I really like it!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a very clever use of 2”squares. It’s an excellent I Spy quilt.
ReplyDeleteWonderful use of scrappy squares.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is an interesting study in the use of value vs. colour. I love it! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of 2" squares and so pretty! I love quilts made with all squares.
ReplyDeleteLove it! It seems like you have had quite a few finishes this year. How many tops have you made and how many have you quilted so far this year? Some people don't consider them finishes until they are quilted. I think the tops are a final accomplishment in themselves and so is the quilting and binding. I love watching your productivity.
