It's a top!
Quarter Log Cabin
50 x 60
I used the longest, widest and most colorful selvages to make the 10.5 inch blocks. I wanted to make bigger blocks and more blocks but most of my selvages were not long enough or colorful enough. So this is where I ended up.
And sew on...
It's wonderfully bright! I really like watching your many progresses!
ReplyDeleteI love quarter log cabins, so much texture and dimension even before quilting!
ReplyDeleteLove this one too!! its so much fun and using the spiderweb fabric was genius!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts always bring a smile to my face. Love them all.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I'm saving my selvedges - not got enough yet :)
ReplyDeleteThe spiderweb print as a constant really pulls this together!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is different. Almost looks like a Bento box quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove the spider web print as the base. It looks like a bottomless pit with rainbows coming out. Wonderful! ;^)
ReplyDeleteDon’t know why I came in as Anonymous. My comment mentions the Bento Box similarity .
ReplyDeleteThanks for the super idea! I have a huge pile of selvages - actually, three tote bags full! This would be ideal for them. I love the fabric you used for the centers, too, and I think I may use the skeleton fabric I have been hoarding for mine. It's one of those fabrics you hate to cut into!
ReplyDeleteAnother great finish! You really have a good eye for using your scraps.
ReplyDeleteI love your layout of these stunning blocks. I've always been fascinated by coming across bloggers who've made selvedge quilts, I wonder when this all began - perhaps the very early days when every last scrap had to be used.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for using selvages, and especially with the spider web fabric! Are these all of your own selvages?
