I'm not sure of the name of this block. It is inspired by a vintage quilt. I'm calling it a Buckeye Beauty variation - it has nine patches in the corners instead of four patches. I now have 82 blocks that finish at six inches. My goal is 130 blocks for a quilt layout of 10 blocks by 13 blocks. I've been using '30s reproduction fabrics and plaids just like grandma except that hers were original '30s fabrics and recycled shirts.
I'm having cataract surgery on my left eye this a.m. I had the right eye surgery on Oct. 11. I've scheduled this post and tomorrows so you won't miss me too much! 😍
ReplyDeleteHope your cateract surgery goes smoothly. Love this block

Great scrappy blocks as always Cathy. Best of luck with eye #2. It is extraordinary to me still, the progress of medicine and surgical techniques since I started in the OR 42y ago!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
Best of luck with the surgery. I hear it makes a huge difference. I'm seeing the Doc to get my eye assessed tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI love this new variation on the Buckeye Beauty/Jacob's Ladder block! Did I already say that? I had both of my eyes done last spring. Amazing what they can do these days! Hope you're happy with your results.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for successful surgeries. They do make a significant difference for most people.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great, some nice subtle colour combos. Hope all went well today!🤞
ReplyDeleteI hope your surgery went well. I'm helping some family after similar procedures. You always remind me to look at the traditional blocks. They were my first loves.
