Cheyenne Quilt Blocks
12 inch finished
I saw a picture of the block and decided it was a good one for some old '30s reproduction fabrics plus plaids and shirtings. Last time I showed the blocks I asked the name of the block and a commenter replied it was called Cheyenne. Well, I googled Cheyenne quilt block and found directions for it at several different sites if you are so inclined to make blocks yourself. I cut my HSTs with an Easy Angle ruler and don't usually use patterns but Delaware Quilts is one of the sites that has instructions for a 12 inch block.
With these blocks I now have 30 blocks - a complete block set- for a layout 5 x 6 and a finished quilt size of 60 x 72 inches - a nice comfort quilt size.
And now, you guessed it...the block set goes into the SAR (Some Assembly Required) box to be assembled at a later date -- some time this winter when I'm not spending time in my gardens.
And sew on...
Ooooh, SAR is a new-to-me term that I love. The blocks look great, and enjoy your time in your garden!
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks. Some great combinations of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI had seen that block before too and never knew the name of it. I think it is one I might play with in the winter.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a great assortment of che ks and plaids in these blocks. But I'm guessing you've got plenty more waiting to be cut and stitched.
ReplyDeleteNever seen this block before but it's a nice size at 12" finished, it looks so good with your reproduction fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI really really like those blocks!!!!
ReplyDeletePut that on the top of the SAR pile - I want to see it all done ;-)
A great scrapbuster!
