Puss In The Corner Finish

Puss in the Corner
It's a finish!
42 x 60

It's also a donation quilt probably going in a big box with other quilts to Lifting Hands International via the Give Back Box and then it will travel on to some refugees somewhere in the world.

I made these Puss in the Corner blocks last year as one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) to use scraps. I have enough blocks left for another half quilt so this year I'm making alternate blocks with light centers and corners and dark sides.

I spy popcorn, broccoli, cup with marshmallow, horseshoes and some cats. And darn, I didn't notice that a red block bled on to some cats until now when I looked closely at this photo. I'll have to see what I can do about that. Washing quilts around here is no easy feat when you only have a wringer washer to do laundry.

I quilted it with swirls of gray thread on my DSM.

The backing is a wild and colorful print and the binding is white with a few colored triangles.

And sew on...

  10. Vicki Welsh has a great article on fixing bleeds. I was able to fix a red run all over a gray quilt with it. https://www.colorwaysbyvicki.com/save-my-bleeding-quilt.html#/ Maybe you could just submerge that one section. It does work.
