Everything's Coming Up Roses in December

Some people collect fabrics by favorite designers but back before I retired and bought most of my fabric I collected fabrics in a couple of different themes. One of those themes is rose prints. So, in December I hope to bust some rose prints.

I've had a bin of dark and light print scraps around for awhile. I'm going to start off my Rosy month with a goal of making a quilt top from these scraps.

I've had this vintage quilt (blogged about at Stash Bandit) in mind for my black, white and red scraps for quite some time. So I'll be making something similar. I'm thinking maybe I'll make thirty 16 inch blocks with various sized centers.

First I took out of the bin all of the scraps that weren't red, black or white. I see most of those are in the brown and orange range so they will probably go into another quilt top.

Then I tried to figure out which  big prints to use for the block centers.  Next I'll cut the block centers and see what I have left for scraps to use to make the log cabin blocks. I'm not sure if I will use the same or varied sizes of strips around. I have to assess my scraps first.

So, my OMG (One Monthly Goal) for December is to get those scraps made into a top.
