Bear Paws Quilt Top

Made of 14 inch (finished) Bear Paw blocks.
Back on March 24 I received several bags of scraps and I decided to document with "Tales From The Scrap Yard" how many donation quilts I could make from those scraps. I've been trying to make the quilts all different. I sorted the scraps into different bins and boxes and this is the first and probably only quilt I'll be able to make from the cool scraps although there are some cool scraps left that will be made into a few other blocks to be shared in quilts in a rainbow of different colors. The neutral backgrounds came from my scraps.

These cool colored bear paws certainly are cool! Usually bearpaw blocks tend to be browns and earth colors, the blues and aquas and purples are great!
ReplyDeleteI really like bear paws and 14"-ers would be GREAT!! I'm on a Quilt of Valor making kick and these would be fab in red, white and blue. Might put those on the QOV agenda. Yours are a great inspiration.

ReplyDeleteI love all of your flimsies/quilts but this top has to be my favourite. Those cool colours are beautiful and I love how you have varied those bear paw blocks made entirely from one fabric and others where the “claws” are a different one from the centre square. So delightful, one you want to keep looking at.

ReplyDeleteLOVE this quilt top, Cathy!! I had hoped for Bear Paw blocks when I finish my term as guild president, back when that guild did such things. Instead, I got fabric and still don't have a Bear Paw quilt! :o((
