Big stitching with perle #8 in a variety of colors on Rose Garden Promises.
I'm running five needles at once and stitching straight lines marked with ruler and hera marker. I'm not using a hoop with this one because that would be too much hoop moving for me.
Such a fun and cheerful quilt!
ReplyDeleteRoses are one of my favorite flowers, although I don't grow them any more because of the deer. There's so much I don't grow any more because of the deer. I'll be working outside for the next three days to take advantage of this unseasonably warm weather. So much to do and not enough time.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of batting do you use when you are hand quilting?

Beautiful, Cathy! I’m looking forward to seeing this one completed. Question for you (since we’re the same age): doesn’t the handwork (repetitive motion) hurt your hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder? Maybe I’m just unlucky in that regard.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful project! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! I love all your projects! I want to come and live in your sewing room! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of needle are you using??
Enjoy your hand stitching!
Love all the rose themed fabrics and your big stitch quilting! Just curious - why do you run 5 needles at a time?
ReplyDeleteThis is looking good. I can't manage quilting without a hoop.
ReplyDeleteGood idea using the 5 needles together. I was also wondering, as were some others, if you prefer any particular batting or needles for hand quilting. I mostly just use whatever I happen to have unless it is really not right. As for the needles, as long as I can see the eye well enough to thread it, it's a go! BTW, we just had another day today that was near 70 degrees! Sharon at purrfection8@gmail.com
