In The Pink

Pink Plus Postage blocks.

Pink is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for June.  (No, it's not June quite yet but it feels like it should be).   These blocks are made from 1.5 inch scraps except for the red plus sign and finish at 10 inches.  The blocks are inspired by a pattern and quilt designed by Susan Ache that appeared in American Patchwork and Quilting in April 2016. The pattern instructions call for strip piecing but I sew the squares together individually so I can make use of my 1.5 inch scraps.

  2. I've been pushing for it to be June, too....The lack of structure means that I fear that I've missed a week. Or three. But I'm sure that in two months I will wish I had some of that free time back. (Not the shutdown/economic crisis. Just the free time.)

  3. I was tempted to start on PINK scrap sewing, but I had a few thing left to complete in Dark GREEN. Not changing over this weekend, either. I've got a challenge quilt due (and it doesn't include PINK!

  4. I love your postage stamp blocks! I’d probably do it like you, too, using up my odd bits by sewing them individually (but with less successful results, LOL). I’m so thrilled to be doing pink this month! That was a loooong stretch of blue, green and blue/green. Anyway, we’re all looking forward to seeing what you produce this month!

  5. I knew you would use Pink this week. I realised you were itching to move away from the dark green fabrics. The pink postage stamps work well with the Red Cross.

  10. Beautiful blocks. I love Susan Ache and think she's amazing. That takes some real grit to make those blocks with individual tiny squares. Great job!
