It's a Flimsy! Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

Kaleidoscope of Butterflies
64 x 80
It's a flimsy!

group of butterflies is officially called a kaleidoscope, although they are sometimes referred to as a swarm. Groups of caterpillars are called an army.
Actually the butterflies are waste triangles against a sky of blue tone on tone scraps.  It's been overcast (and very cold) outside so the colors look darker than they really are.
Now to find a backing and quilt in some flowers for the butterflies.

  2. That was one of the first classes I ever took, though I think my butterflies were bigger. My fabric choices were awful and I ended up giving the flimsy away. I've learned a lot since then ...

  6. I enjoy watching you cross quilts off your 2019 WIP list, and watching those finishes appear in your 2019 Finishes page, **almost** as much as I love your quilts in general, and this one in particular. I am consistently impressed with your color sense. So pretty! And I think you’re on pace to finish, what, like 100 quilts this year? Zounds. (No need to reply, just admiring from afar!)

  11. Wow - that's a lot of 4" butterfly blocks! I was planning to use up my scrap triangles with 6" blocks using nine different solids. But your monochromatic version is stunning. Makes me rethink my plan.

That butterfly fourpatch block is one I enjoy.
And it looks cold outside, your butterflies are going to freeze.
