It's a Flimsy! Zig Zag Nine Patch

Zig Zag Nine Patch
94 x 94
It's a flimsy!

It started with a bin of 3 inch nine patches and a Google search of vintage quilts.  I landed on a picture of an antique Ohio Amish quilt from the Darwin D. Bearley collection and decided I would try to make one like it.
And now back to searching...I have a lot of nine patches left.

  1. That's a really fun way to set the nine patch blocks! The solids make your eye travel up and down and around. Nice pattern! Have fun choosing your next pattern.

  3. This flimsy is fabulous! Makes me want to dig right back into the scrap bins. One doesn't usually associate this type of design and scrappiness with Amish quilts, this is very special.

  4. Reminds me of flashes of lightning with those solids taking your eye down the quilt. A super way of using those small 9 patches. Another super finish! More of your block stashes depleted.

Have fun picking the next one - there are an infinite number of ways to set 9-patches, which makes it very hard to choose!
