This month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month is anything in between blue and green like aqua or teal or turquoise.
I dug into the 2.5 inch scraps this week and made two 8 inch Depression Blocks.
I used 2.5 inch scraps for the centers and 1.5 inch scraps for the sides and ended up with some cute little four inch Happy Blocks.
And combined with some other colors and some six inch HST centers I made three 10 inch Crazy Lady of the Lake blocks. That makes 65 blocks and my target is 81.
I admire the other blocks, but those Crazy Ladies are truly my favorites!
ReplyDeleteYour going to have a quilt full of Crazy Ladies before you know it!
ReplyDeleteYou have been more productive than I! I just keep making slab blocks! Oh well, they will make a quilt too! Next year I am going to try to have a plan!
ReplyDeleteStill whittling away on Lady of the Lake! It's going to be really gorgeous -- so rich!
ReplyDeleteDepression blocks are funny, you picked great novelties for the center.
ReplyDeleteThose Lady of the lake blocks use a bunch of HST, and all your blocks looks fantastic.
Your blocks are always wonderful, but the Crazy Ladies are standouts. And somehow, they are so YOU. LOL!! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing some wonderful TEAL/TURQUOISE love!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, be still my heart. The teal and red is awesome. The teal and orange is pretty great too. I see a teal and red quilt in my future.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful blocks -- I love your variety of fabrics in all of the blocks.
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks. I love the way you systematically go through your scraps: 1.5", 2.5" etc and the way your system adds to your ever growing block totals ( plus some extras to toss into another stash of blocks for a future project such as the small Happy Blocks).
ReplyDeletevery pretty....i too must dive into some 2.5" strips....thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAqua, teal and turquoise are some of my favorite colors. Those Crazy Ladies of the Lake are gorgeous. I always wanted to make a red and turquoise quilt. I think it would be fun to sew with those colors.
ReplyDeleteLoving your 'crazy ladies'! There's going to be heaps of quilty colour in the finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteThe reddy oranges with the tealy turquoisies looks so great. Color wheel opposites always shine, but this combo is my favorite.
