March brings a new color for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. We are supposed to use our bright and light greens and save darks for another month but I'm just using green scraps of any variety this month.
And my first order of scrappy business was to dig into the 3.5 inch scrap box. I made some six inch bow tie blocks. They are a project carried over from last year. I cut the snowballs which also uses 3.5 inch scraps but didn't get them made.
Then I dug into the green chunks (less than a FQ) to make 8 eight inch Oh Susannah! quilt blocks for this month's Block Lotto.
It's just the 3rd day of March and you've don a great job of using up those green scraps! You've got some fun blocks to play with now.
ReplyDeleteOff to a great start already. Two fun blocks with lots of great scraps.
ReplyDeleteWOW You worked hard Cathy! Great start for a green month, beautiful blocks so far.
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks! I have so many green bow tie blocks from last year that I’m not sure I’ll make any this month. On the other hand, if I did I could probably do an all-green donation quilt! Your Block Lotto blocks are super!
ReplyDeleteI always love looking at your scraps - so many fun ones! The black cats on the green - love them! I may have to start looking for more cat fabric...
ReplyDeleteAs always, you provide a fun closeup of fabrics. Made me appreciate green and black together...even for halloween!
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me with the variety of your fabrics and blocks! Look at you go!
ReplyDelete(So far, all I've gotten done with green is to think about green. Mmmm... green...)
Always love looking at your scraps...... little snowmen, crazy cats, great mix.
ReplyDeleteLove those Block Lotto blocks! I've got to get to it. I haven't participated at all since it's back up and running this year. I am cheering from the sidelines so far.
ReplyDeleteIt's only March 3rd. I can't believe how many blocks you've completed!!
ReplyDeleteLove the blocks you got done this week. I keep thinking I should do a bow tie quilt. Someday.
ReplyDeleteI love green, but I've never made a green quilt. Your greens are making me think I should.
ReplyDeleteI finished all my green RSC blocks yesterday. Glad to see I'm not the only one who leaps right into it...
ReplyDeleteCathy, that is a lot of happy green to start the month with. Happy green sewing.
