Clarissa blocks #4 and #5
You know I love vintage quilts!
I'm slowly (very slowly) making these blocks.
I now have 5 of them and have a long way to go. I'm not in a hurry.
Here's four of the five.
Five don't make for a good picture and these barely fit on my cutting- mat -covered -with- batting -propped -against- the -wall - design-wall.
Your blocks look awesome! And even though I love the look of hourglass units, I don't like making them because they always come out warped. Yours look pretty good and I can't wait to see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt's a simple unit, but the arrangement of fabrics makes it so special!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look fabulous! I think I should send you some fabric to that will be in my Clarissa and in yours!!
ReplyDeleteAnother great idea. Another set of blocks started and another quilt in the future.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I nearly went off on a tangent making these too! Your blocks are looking great. It's a simple little block but the combinations are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely, Cathy. It's a treat to see the previous inspirations, too. I like Kathy's idea of including some of her fabric in yours. A double link.
ReplyDeleteThese are looking great! Isn't it wonderful how a simple block, repeated, can produce something so lovely?
ReplyDeleteI like the subtle variations of light and dark contrast in your blocks.
ReplyDeleteKathy's Clarissa blocks are beautiful.
