PINK is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for October.
I was really surprised by how many different pink 1.5 inch scraps I had to work with.
I made these blocks I call 21 Patches. They are made from little 1.5 x 2.5 inch pieces and measure 6 inches x 14 inches (finished). The little 2 inch units are pretty versatile and can be used in a number of ways.
Then I made 42 little rail blocks. Not all of them fit on my batting covered old cutting mat. I'm not sure of the final layout for these - basket weave, rail fence, 4 patch, 9 patch, combine with another block? Time will tell.
So pretty! Looks like a very productive month already!
ReplyDeleteYou really have a nice variety of pink scraps, Cathy! I was just thinking about making some of those 1.5 x 2.5 inch blocks like I did last month. I'll have to dig around in my pink scrap bin today!
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing variety of pinks. I shall be interested to see how you decide to use them.
ReplyDeleteNice start to PINK month!!
ReplyDeleteI like it already! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI love pink so I am really enjoying all your blocks. These are both so versatile and can be used in a lot of ways.
ReplyDeleteYour little blocks are all so cute - what great scraps you have!
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty and soft. I stayed away from pink for a while since it was such a girly color, and the feminist in me didn't want to be girly. Once I took away the girly, sickly sweet, label, and just call it pink, I like it again.
ReplyDeleteLots of pinks...quilt is shaping up nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what all these little cuties become when they grow up!
ReplyDeleteLovely way to use your 1.5" pink scraps. I particularly like the idea of the 6" x 14" blocks. Quod have achieved a lot in one day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of pink blocks!
ReplyDeleteSomeday your collection will turn into a quilt, but for now it is fun to see the numbers keep growing.
ReplyDeleteThose certainly are versatile blocks, and a great Scrap use. Have a fun week!
ReplyDeleteLove those little pink rails! Great selection of pinks. You are off to a great start this month. Do you use leader/enders? Bonnie Hunter's new challenge is rail fence blocks, anyway you want to do them. She's doing hers with black and white checkerboards on one side. Lots of fun and they work up really fast.
ReplyDeleteSuch a variety of pink scraps - I have spotted several in there I particularly like.
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty pinks! I love the idea of making little units and figuring out what to do with them later.
