Checkered Past
72 x 84
Hand quilted (Big stitching with perle #8)
Inspired by a vintage quilt
Finished August 2017
1.5 inch scraps alternating with strips of muslin make up the 5 inch blocks. Four five inch blocks make up a ten inch block. The ten inch blocks were then sashed.

As you know I love this quilt so much I am making one too! Such a marvellous use for 1.5" scrap squares.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful quilt. I do believe you are the queen of scrappy quilts!
ReplyDeleteAnd another of my favorite quilts!
ReplyDeleteWhen you first started making these blocks I was a little perplexed - I just couldn't visualize the final quilt. Now I just always trust you, because I know whatever you make is going to make me smile!
So many of your quilts have that nod to the antique quilts that I love. Such a great quilt. So many possibilities with this pattern!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for the festival. I love seeing this one again. I really need to add more mustard to my quilts!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty, Good choice.
ReplyDeleteFun use of color too. Thanks for sharing, Cathy.
Oh, I'm so glad you put this one in the Bloggers Festival. It's worth another round of applause. I love the way you reprise vintage quilts. Your subtle changes update them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see this one again. I still love the yellow sashing.
ReplyDeleteGotta LOVE a rainbow quilt from months (years?) of sewing with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! :o))
ReplyDeleteGreat looking quilt! Your choice of fabrics and colors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you put this in, because I had missed the finish. It looks fabulous, and could a backing be more perfect?
