Yellow 2.5 Inch Scraps (and Then Some)

Wild Ladies of the Lake
10 inch blocks

This week I pulled out the yellow 2.5 inch scraps. There wasn't much to work with but I did manage to make a few blocks.

Eight inch Depression Block and 12 inch Ship Block

I found my pile of eight inch Depression Blocks I have made over the years with my 2.5 inch scraps.  I forgot about them because I didn't put them in the box with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects.  It looks like I have about 58 (now 59) of them.   I want a big quilt out of them so need about double that amount.

Garden patchwork of yellow flowers.
Snapdragons, pansies, tomato blossoms, roses, day lilies, oriental lilies, roses, dutchman's pipe.
WARNING: Dutchman's pipe is invasive around here. Gosh...I spend a lot of time pulling this vine out of my flower gardens.

When it's not too hot or too rainy but when it's just right I work out in the gardens.

  7. So good to see those depression blocks again - I thought I had missed a finish or something. I almost copied those this year but decided I had enough blocks with HSTs to trim.... your Ladies of the Lake are awesome (and always remind me of the Crosby, Stills & Nash song, "Lady of the Island")

  8. I really don't understand how you make such pretty blocks out of such a varied bunch of scraps! It seems to me that you just use whatever you pick up, and it always turns out beautiful! You have that magic touch for sure! Same thing applies to your flowers too! I love them. ---"Love"
