I worked a little more on my Jack's Chain in neutrals with dark 3 inch 9 patches.
There's a lot of Y seams in this so I work on it a little at a time.
I'm using the pattern from Quilter's Cache.
This is Jack's Chain quilt #2 and will be a little bigger than the first one I made which was 66 x 80 and is in the hope chest for my grandson's wedding gift. (He's only 8 right now so it will be in the hope chest for a good long while).
I want this one to fit on my queen-sized bed.
Anyone want to swap 3 inch 9 patches? I need a bunch more!
In case you want to know what a completed Jack's Chain looks like...
Jack's Chain #1
This one used up a lot of my bright 3 inch 9 patches!
that is a very interesting pattern - I know I have seen a photo of one completed somewhere - probably pinterest
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! That is a lot of teeny pieces!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you temptress you. I've got Jack's Chain on my bucket list, I love making nine-patches (I made hundreds for the starpatch quilt I'm currently quilting for my youngest daughter), and I'd jump at the chance to swap with you.
ReplyDeleteI'm in.
(I absolutely adore that blue/bright Jack's Chain. I know that I've told you that before, and I will tell you again every time you show it!)
I've liked this since I was given a pattern for it back in the 1980s. Still on the list. I guess I need to get busy.
ReplyDeletethis is a scrappy pattern that has always intrigued and tantalized me....2017 might be the year i cave...
ReplyDeleteI love your Jack's Chain - count me in for the swap!
ReplyDeleteI am game to swap 9 patches. We could even say hi in person!
ReplyDeleteI love both versions! This has been on my bucket list forever, so I'm very impressed that you are on #2!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw a vintage quilt like this years ago at a quilt show. I was a beginner quilter and sketched it out but was unsure of how to piece it. I still have the sketch I made and have since found a pattern for it, but have yet to make it. Maybe some day. I really liked how the blue one turned out and it will be fun to see how this one turns out, they are very different. I would be interested in swapping nine patches with you.

Y-seams are not fun, but this quilt looks so good when it's done that I guess it's worth it. Good luck gathering all the extra 9 patch blocks!
