Orange 1.5 and Crumbs

Crumb Butterflies

A few orange 3 inch spools plus a stray dark purple I forgot to make last month.

A couple of whatever this block happens to be - made of 1.5 postage stamps and muslin strips.  I made the orange and black one yesterday but made the orange and blue one either last year or the year before.  I think I will use the plaid in the background for sashing. I saw a...

...vintage 30s quilt a couple of years ago on Ebay (above) and was inspired to make my own from scraps.   Seller called it "Vintage 30s Roman Stripe".  I know Roman Stripe as a different block.

Got scraps? Orange ones?

  1. The ghost moth blocks are so lovely. Your take on the vintage quilt will work into a lovely and colourful quilt. So much fun to try to reproduce a vintage quilt using today's fabrics.

  3. You already made me grab the moth pattern last time, and darned if I don't want to grab it again! Apparently I need some moths/butterflies in my life!
That plaid is so perfect for those blocks. (I don't know the name of that one either...)

  6. I love your orange butterflies! You always have such an interesting collection of blocks to share. I never got a chance to comment on your post yesterday, but the variety of butterfly qults you have been working on is so fun to see! Helped me think of a quilting friend who just passed away, who loved butterflies. Our group made a butterfly quilt in her honor awhile ago. I wish I had a picture of it to share!
