Bunny Breeding 101

And now there are 27.

It's easy to breed rabbits if you follow Sally's tutorials at her blog The Objects of Design.

Still no Velveteen Rabbit in the mix. Maybe there will be an appearance soon.

I took off work the next few days to help husband with some outside chores (cutting down some dead trees for firewood, cleaning up gardens, taking down snow fences, clearing area for new chicken coops, etc [oh, my aching back, I'm getting too old for this]) but hope to sneak in a little sewing too.  So, there may be a Velveteen Rabbit before Easter.  Still haven't found the darned book, though. I'm thinking I gave it to my daughter (or she gave it to herself).

  1. I love your bunnies. I visited Sally's blog and printed out the tutes. There could very well be some bunnies in my future too.

  2. They are multiplying! I think you are letting them stand too close to each other. The bunnies on the right in the first picture are already kissing. You'd better separate them!

  3. So cute! Some of them make me think of chocolate Easter bunnies! They will make a fun quilt! Take care of your back; you need your strength for sewing!

  4. I love the bunnies and the idea of adding a velveteen rabbit–that book is one of my favorite children's stories.

  5. The butterfly background is quite interesting with the bunnies. Your use of fabrics remains awesome so each bunny has such great character.

  6. You're making me want to make bunnies, too, though my scraps aren't nearly as interesting as yours... I could just sit and look at these little cuties forever!

  7. I just saved off the tutorials, too -- these are just TOO cute. (and I adore that book - especially the version with illustrations by Michael Hague).

  8. Oh! Your cute bunnies are multiplying so fast! I want to make some too, but with all the cats, kittens and butterflies in my sewing room it would be havoc. Maybe Gayle and I can pick it up next year once you and Sally are done...... HA!

  10. My grandson has a stuffed bunny and these remind me of it. I may have to try your bunnies soon. Adorable. Especially with the random butterflies flitting around.

  11. They are very cute, though you might want to take steps to ensure they don't start breeding while you are not looking. :-)

  12. Those bunnies make me smile. So very cute. Thanks for sharing....And on that note, where can I buy the pattern? I have a new niece coming in June. This might be the perfect pattern for her.
