Red is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month.
So...I made some 8 inch Kaleidoscopes from 2.5 inch scraps...
...and then I made a few more.
Then I made some 8 inch string blocks. I use scrap paper from work for the foundations. I've been making these since last year so I need to see how many I have and get busy making some donation quilts (after I tear off all that darned paper).
Yup - why I don't use paper on the back (someone suggested pages from the telephone book - easier to tear out).
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS REDS!!
OO la la! Hot, hot, hot! Your blocks are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I love those red blocks. Especially those string blocks!
ReplyDeleteRemoving the paper is the tedious part of paper pieced string blocks, but look at all the strings -- all sewn together and happy!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look good.
ReplyDeleteWay to light up a room!
ReplyDeleteLove all those reds. Especially blah blah blah...

Lots of great reds going on in your sewing room. Tearing the papers is the worst part ever. Good luck... maybe some mindless tearing while watching a movie?
ReplyDeleteWow!! What a wonderful selection of RED fabrics... and you've gotten SEW much done, too!!
ReplyDeleteThe kaleidoscope blocks are definitely Red Hots! It's great to see all your red fabrics together - definitely supporting Mary Ellen Hopkins belief that all reds go together!
ReplyDeleteGo reds!!
ReplyDeleteLove all those reds! I use telphone book type paper and it really is much easier to teare off when I use a 1.5 stitch. Love string blocks and they are so fun to sew!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I used to love that candy that was soooo cinnamon-y and stained your tongue and fingers when you HAD to take it out of your mouth for a few seconds to rest your overstressed tastebuds, LOL! Looks fabulous!
