I May Be Dense but the Quilting Isn't


Dots and Dashes
84 x 96


224 six inch shoo fly blocks made of polka dots and stripes.


Some blocks (maybe half?) came from a couple of swaps and I made the rest.


Sometimes it's difficult to match up seams and triangles on swapped blocks but overall it all turned out okay.  The quilt is so busy I don't think anyone will notice a few mismatched seams or points. )If they do...they have a problem ).   And the quilt is so loud it may keep someone awake at night. 


No dense quilting...just a few lines either side of the middle section of the blocks.  I wrestled it through my dinky little plain Jane Janome DSM. 

And the back looks like this. 


And for the binding I used some brown polka dots and stripes.

I can mark another UFO off my list.  Yahoo!

    How fun is this! Love the polka dots and stripes. Love that it's 'loud' and bright. Am I happy that you don't make a big deal about some points and seams that don't match. So often people complain that a swapped block isn't "perfect" but it's a reflection of the person who made it and I rather like that.

    It is bright, but that makes it so cheery. I love the solid back, too. That really seals the deal.

    Love this. Anyone who checks your points and seams clearly doesn't have enough to do. In any case, when I look closely at old quilts I love they are seldom perfect.

    What a great quilt. I really like how you quilted it. Sometimes quilts are quilted to death. This one is just right and so bright and colorful. Doesn't it feel great to get WIPs done and out the sewing room? Thanks for linking to WIPs Be Gone. I'll celebrate with you.
