I finished 12 more arches for the Pickle Dish quilt I'm making as a wedding gift for my granddaughter who loves pink.
I'm still rehearsing fabrics for the centers that join the arches.
I picked up this remnant the other day and thought it might make a nice center. And, now I think otherwise.
I still have a while to decide on centers. My granddaughter is only 9.

My favorite center option that you have shown was in the previous post showing the turquoise fabrics. The tone on tone polka dot with just dots is my favorite. The turqoise contrasts well with the pinks in the picture. The polka dots with flowers (both turqoise and pinky-red) distracts. The flowers bring to many colors into the center.
ReplyDeleteI love sewing the arches also. I am paper piecing mine. They look a mess than you trim them up and wha lah! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is going to be beautiful! What a wonderful wedding gift.
ReplyDeleteTHey are great but that is a serious amount of pink xx
ReplyDeleteshe is going to love this quilt, I love it! my DD;s at 9 would have gone crazy for this quilt as well as at 13 or 18 !!!!!

This is going to be a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt's not so much about how old she is, but how old you are. You are starting early. Good idea. Wish I had done that. I'm at that age where my grandgirls are getting married! I'm having troubles keeping up. One married last month. Another is engaged now, and there is a third nearing the aisle. Guess I know what I should be doing.

Loving those pickles--and about your centers pickle (groan!) what about those cute B&W prints with writing on them? Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteLove this! the pink tones of your quilt are great, maybe try a black & white dot fabric for the centres, just to add "that little bit extra"? Linda
