Round One

Round One
Thirty Pie Bird Blocks

I started making 10 inch Pie Bird blocks the other day. They are basically a Courthouse Steps variation. I made 5 blocks and then decided I wanted 35 total blocks. I also decided to work the rounds on all of my blocks at one time. That way I can cut all my required pieces for each round at one time. I cut a lot of the pieces for this round and part of round two when I was processing 2.5 inch width scraps

And sew on...

I had my wellness exam Tuesday. I am a healthy 73 year old lady. I am very thankful for good health.

Since Oct. 1 we have had 19 inches of snow. A lot of it finally melted yesterday but more is predicted for later today.

***
Moira sent me some vintage blocks from her mothers collection. I will use them in comfort quilts.

  3. Such a fun scrappy quilt, Cathy. Glad to hear your wellness report is good. BRRRR on all that snow. Be careful on icy roads.

  4. It makes a lot of sense to do each round on all the blocks at the same time. It probably eliminates some mistakes too. Bravo for a clean health exam. Mine said my cholesterol is a little high. Darn chocolate ice cream, lol. I believe you had more snow than we did. I mean, I'm not jealous or anything and you can keep it, lol. Ours hasn't melt yet and we are to get some more this weekend. Quilting weather. Enjoy! ;^)

  5. Glad you are in good health (John needs you!). The Pie Birds are wonderful, and I spy scraps that used to be at my house among them.

  6. Very happy blocks! Here is hoping my checkup in Jan. goes well for a 72 yr old lady! New exercise program in new place has really helped, but there are just those aches and stiffness.
