Gwennie Inspired Medallion - Stars

I was only able to find time to add the stars border to one of my Gwennie Medallions this month.
That brings the size to 54 x 63

I dug into my 1.5 inch scraps and made some little 3 inch Friendship Stars...

...and alternated them with some little 3 inch rails.  I kind of wanted to keep something that looked like weaving plus repeat some of the colors in the basket blocks.

I know what I'm going to do for the star border on my other Gwennie...just need to get it done.

Looking forward to the next theme!  Which I now see is "something fishy". Hmmmm....

To see what everyone else has been working on:

Your goal to carry the weaving idea through is working beautifully. I really like this top!

I have always liked the Friendship Star block. Good choice for your quilt. The bigger the piece gets, the more time sewing so I can see why you only had time for one.

I love your stars - like a string of beads surrounding the center. I'm looking forward to seeing your other quilt as well!

Well, it is a pretty large border, so well done, Cathy! Your stars and stripes are working beautifully. I admire everyone doing this challenge, it's a tough one!

Oh my,you are ambitious! I love this border. I think yours might be the biggest so far. I love the fact that it is a medallion, but with lots of blocks as a center. Beautiful!

Love your interpretation of the star theme. Your baskets with their cute bases are the best!

Loving your quilt. It is quite different from some of the others in that you started with a large inner medallion section and then have added narrow borders. I love the stars in your last border -looking forward to seeing how you interpret the next prompt. I have my thinking cap on at the moment but haven't come up with an idea yet -it will happen though.

So nice. The quilt top has a unity about it. Very well done.

I really like your interpretation of the star border! I like the friendship stars, how your colors repeat throughout the quilt and the idea of "weaving" too. It's working!

Good luck on getting your next one done. The bigger they get, the more sewing there is and it takes time! I had a struggle getting both of mine done, and they're smaller than yours!

Your stars are a great border for this quilt, Cathy. I like the addition of the "striped" square between the stars. Too fun!

I like the stars, and everything in this top sits together so well - it'll be fun to see what you make of something fishy!

I'm glad to see you are also doing more than one. I finally got all three of mine done last night and posted pictures today.

This one is looking great, it is going to be lovely when you finish it up. Good luck on catching your other one up.
